Description
This fine wool scarf is handwoven on wooden looms in Kathmandu and then hand screen printed with Mithila design.
Mithila design inspired by Nepalese artwork from South Nepal. The design was originally painted on the houses in South Nepal in bright colours during festivals, which would then fade and wash away in the monsoon each year. The paintings are rooted in traditions which have been passed down through generations and depict scenes of daily life and festivals as well as Hindu goods and stories.
